China World Peace Foundation Cultural Tour in South Korea

During the general assembly of Asia- Pacific Broadcast Union (ABU) From Oct 14th to Oct 17th 2012, China World Peace Foundation visited South Korea. Chairman Li Ruohong of China World Peace Foundation had a meeting with Chairman of ABU and KBS president Mr. Kim In-Kyu. They talked about issues raging from representatives from 60 countries and regions attending this ABU convention to America, Europe and Africa now positively engaging in Asian affairs in the context of the eastward of international situation. They all agreed that in the economic transition period, China and Korea should enhance economic and cultural cooperation, develop and promote eastern cultural brands, which are of great significance and long-term effect. China World Peace Foundation would work with KBS, and jointly contribute to Asian peace through cultural exchanges. China World Peace Foundation delegation also enjoyed rich splendid shows performed by Asian countries with representatives from different countries. After the show, President Kim In-Kyu introduced main leaders of ABU to Chaiman Li Ruohong and interacted with performers and representatives.

Accompanied by principal of regional economic association and ceramic artist Mr. Shi Feng in South Korea, China World Peace Foundation visited Sokcho and Shi Feng Ceramics Museum in east coast. In the museum displays historical and modern ceramic works created and collected by Mr. Shi Feng for the fifty years. At the end of tea time, Mr. Li Ruohong was gifted a representative work made by Shi Feng. In the municipal government of Sokcho, Li Ruohong conducted a friendly meeting with Mayor Mr. Cai Longsheng. They exchanged their ideas on friendship cities and cultural communication between China and South Korea. Mayor expressed his willingness to hold a ceramic exhibition by cooperating with China World Peace Foundation. Chairman Li Ruohong stated that although the works of great artists in different nations have built solid international standing, the artists still lack of international exchanges. These non-material cultural heritages could only be effectively carried on through more actively wide communication.
